Manufacturing processes generally include gear hobbing, gear shaping, gear shaving, or gear grinding, with gear grinding capable of achieving higher precision (e.g., grades 3–4). When selecting a gear, factors such as module, number of teeth, pressure angle (typically 20°), tooth width, material (e.g., 40Cr, 20CrMnTi), and heat treatment (carburizing and quenching, nitriding) must be considered.
